Zanzibar Mandatory Travel Insurance

If you are planning to travel to Zanzibar on or after October 1st, 2024, you are required to obtain the Zanzibar Mandatory Travel Insurance, even if you already have your own travel insurance. This applies to every traveller individually and must be arranged in advance. The insurance costs USD 44 per person, after which you will receive a QR code that must be presented upon arrival.

This mandatory travel insurance provides basic coverage for emergency medical expenses, medical and body repatriation, personal accidents, baggage delays, baggage theft or loss, legal expenses, and personal liability.
