Tanzania Wildlife Voyages highlights that the weather in Tanzania varies by region — but there’s always a good time to visit! The coastal regions tend to be the hottest and most humid, while the northern parts and the highlands enjoy cooler temperatures due to higher elevations. Throughout the year, daytime temperatures typically range between 22°C and 31°C. At night, the temperature can drop to between 10°C and 22°C. Zanzibar, situated near the Equator, experiences a truly tropical climate, making its beaches warm and inviting year-round.

Most international travelers will require a visa to enter Tanzania. You can apply for your visa online through the official Tanzanian government visa portal. Please be aware that this is the only legitimate website for Tanzania visa applications.
Alternatively, you can obtain a single-entry tourist or business visa on arrival at major entry points in Tanzania. This visa is valid for up to three months. You may need to show proof of your return travel, and the cost is $50 per person (US citizens: $100 per person).
When you book your trip with Tanzania Wildlife Voyages, we assist you every step of the way with your visa application and administrative formalities.
“Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the final date of your travel with Tanzania Wildlife Voyages.”
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required only for travelers aged one year and older who are arriving from — or have transited for more than 12 hours through — a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission.
Alongside standard vaccinations like MMR and TDP, both the CDC and WHO recommend additional vaccinations for travel to Tanzania, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and typhoid. Depending on your planned activities, yellow fever and rabies vaccines may also be advised. As of January 2023, Tanzania has lifted all COVID-19-related travel restrictions — neither vaccination proof nor PCR testing is required for entry.
As with any international trip, Tanzania Wildlife Voyages strongly recommends consulting your doctor or a travel health professional before departing for Tanzania.
